Dark Clouds

Dark Clouds

The beastly gray sky speaks

Dark, swirling clouds, a cancer threatening

to chew up everything in its path

A channel of destruction

Branches beading with buds of new hope

tentatively sway in the eery air

as if they know they may become mere

bare sticks flung far and wide

along a path of sorrowful existence

There is no foretelling the time or place

The ugly darkness will reach down and

take what it wants

releasing from its swirling depths

haphazardly, leaving nothing unscathed

Try to run

Try to hide

How can you cheat Fate?

  1. Tornadoes, storms, disappearing planes….we’ve had our share of darkness these days. Well-penned. I go back and forth on fate. Is it real, or is everything just random? Of course, that could lead to an entirely different poem. 😉 Welcome to the Whirl!
